Our Story
This photograph is of my sister, Lin. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love continue to inspire everything Mend & Bloom has become.
After losing her, I found myself reflecting on the simple things that bring comfort, connection, and healing. From those quiet moments, Mend & Bloom was born: a place where handmade dolls, gentle stories, and imaginative play help children feel safe, seen, and free to imagine.
My hope is that every doll becomes a cherished companion, every story becomes a treasured memory, and every child knows they are loved exactly as they are.

Meet Dorothy
Hello, I'm Dorothy
For as long as I can remember, I've been drawn to two worlds: caring for people and creating with my hands. Although those paths seemed very different, they eventually led me to the same place.
I began my career in nursing, where I discovered how important compassion, connection, and emotional well-being are to every stage of life. Later, I followed my creative side into fashion design and manufacturing, spending more than thirty years designing patterns, developing products, and bringing ideas to life with thoughtful craftsmanship.
As a parent, I witnessed the remarkable way children learn through play. That experience inspired me to continue my education, earning a degree in psychology and Sociology so I could better understand child development, human behavior, and the importance of emotional connection.
Today, Mend & Bloom brings together everything I have learned through healthcare, design, education, and motherhood. Every doll, story, and play scape is thoughtfully created to encourage imagination, nurture emotional growth, and help children feel safe, seen, and understood.
My hope is simple: that every child who welcomes a Mend & Bloom companion into their life discovers the comfort of being exactly who they are —and the confidence to imagine who they can become.

At Mend & Bloom, we believe childhood is a time to imagine, create, and feel safe. Our mission is to create handmade dolls, gentle stories, and meaningful play experiences that nurture emotional growth, connection, and creativity.
We believe play is one of a child's first and most important languages. Through
storytelling, imaginative play, and everyday moments of connection, children build confidence, explore emotions, strengthen relationships, and discover more about themselves and the world around them.
Drawing from backgrounds in healthcare, psychology, education, design, and craftsmanship, every doll, story, and playscape is thoughtfully created with one purpose: to help children feel seen, comforted, and inspired to imagine.
Our hope is simple: to create keepsakes that children treasure today and remember with love for years to come.
